Summary

As a small animal veterinarian for the past 17 years, I have learned how important communication is, to build a trusting relationship with your clients and patients.

Due to nerve damage to my right hand and leg, which has limited my surgical abilities , I have done mostly consultation work for the past 7 years . I enjoy working with people, I am easy going , and find it , freeing up other vets ,that prefer to do surgical work, as well as pursue other interests.

Veterinarian

Dr Frank Scholtz
Berea Vet Clinic, East Londen , South Africa
01.2012 - 12.2012
  • Small animal consulting and routine surgeries.
  • We worked at a walk in clinic, doing very varied work. The two senior vets, wanted to be able to focus on there wildlife work, which included transporting South African wildlife. This worked well, as I would often be left to do sole charge work, which enabled them to focus on other areas of the clinic.
  • This clinic also had a percentage of low socioeconomic clientele. This taught me, to think outside the box and to work within the client budget.
  • This is a valuable lesson , to work with your client and have clear expectations as to the outcome of your case.
