Upskilling in isolation paediatrics, surgical and emergency nursing. The best aspect of this experience was that it was the main hospital for the Northern Territory and I was able to meet patients from very diverse backgrounds and indigenous groups that I had little previous awareness of. I learnt about the complex nature of health, particularly in societies that are more collective in nature than my own and for individuals that had many competing priorities aside from their individual 'health' concerns, and different concepts of health and wellbeing.
