I have come up to Geraldton to spend time with my father, who has lived here for the past four years. Dad lived here as a youngster so has basically come home. I am hoping to secure a mechanical apprenticeship here in Geraldton so I can stay here with Dad. I have had a strong interest in mechanical fields from a young age, tinkering and repairing a range of equipment such as motorbikes, lawnmowers, whipper snippers, and motor cars. I am prepared to do some unpaid work experience to prove my willingness to secure an apprenticeship.
Assisting with roadwork construction, learning how to operate various machines - front end loader, roller, skid steer, excavator. Pre starts for all of the above machinery. I attend one day per week, and go to school for the remain four days per week.
Customer service, cooking and serving food, cleaning restaurant and toilets, restocking fridges, freezers, and shelves.
carting bricks, mixing mud and distributing to a team of brickies, laid some "rough bricks", erecting scaffolding.
This was my Dad's farm and I helped from an early age. Mustering and drafting sheep, roustabout and crutching during shearing, ploughing, seeding, rock and stump picking, helping Dad with machinery maintenance, helping out at harvest time. All of this when school permitted.
Fishing, camping, four wheel driving, motor bike riding.
