Accomplishments

  • Managed an optimisation project to sell the first Council owned heritage property on the open market with the proceeds reinvested into a local community project. This included due diligence, regulatory process, corresponding with various Council departments, gaining approval and official support from Local Boards and Committees. This enabled the community project to be brought forward on the Long-Term Plan.
  • Managed the project of creating a new property strategy for all Council owned properties through to adoption by Committee. This included due diligence/investigations of all properties and provision of future proofed outcomes either by way of divestment, development or retaining.
  • Managed a regional project addressing the pensioner housing portfolio and Policy. Implemented an overdue rent review and maintenance project of all properties. The project included liaising with all relevant stakeholders, media and tenants. Creation of various sites where all pensioner housing tenants could congregate and discuss the changes, reviews and maintenance in a respectful empathetic environment. Physical access to related government departments on site to assist financially and emotionally. This approach mitigated the level of reputational risk for Council and provided overall positive outcomes for pensioners and rate payers while building credible relationships with all Government stakeholders.
