I am from the UK, visiting on a second WHV(417) looking for a FIFO role. I am a hard worker, quick learner and not shy of labour intensive work. During my first year I spent 8 months in a Mechanical Trade Assistant FIFO role gaining valuable experience and knowledge hoping to further this during my second year.

- During this 8 month period I worked along side the mechanical fitters on site carrying out high risk and intricate tasks whilst constructing and aligning components. I assisted in the high-torque of bolts ensuring communication and pre job planning was clear before starting. Also, I was exposed to many different alignment techniques such as laser and dial whilst installing gearboxes and pumps. I was also responsible for the prep of machined surfaces, checking soft foot and using filler gauges to determine shim heights on the bases of motors and gearboxes. Furthermore I helped logistically with reading drawings to ensure we had the right parts for the job at hand. My role within the team on site continued to job set up which entailed of area set up, checking the paperwork was valid and included the task and communication with other surrounding teams to ensure fluidity throughout the job.

- During my time here I worked in a team of two carrying out domestic and industrial plaster-boarding. This role forced me to become more independent as a worker whilst ensuring I worked efficiently within the team of two.
