Summary

This year I started year 9 at Cleveland District State High School, this is the first year i get to choose my own classes. I chose wood work and outdoor education. Outdoor education is a lot of outdoor and camp based activities, there are a lot of life skills involved too like cooking, collaboration with other students, team work and exposure to many activities that are interesting for me that I may not have been exposed to easily. Outdoor activities and camping have been an interest of mine since I was very young through travel with my family.

I love to sail. My dad introduced me to it when i was 10 years old and I've loved it ever since. My family and i used to race on a boat together, now we race against each other in smaller boats. there's a very friendly community there and i've developed new social skills over the years, how to talk to people of all ages and how to treat people with kindness. These skills are very transferrable into the workforce. I also dance both after school and during school and participate in sports aerobics representing the school in state (and hopefully national) competitions, these are extra curricular activities. I enjoy these to stay active and again because of the people I surround myself with. I tend to see the good in people which again will help in customer facing situations.

When I was younger, I was around my grandparents a lot (prior to moving to Brisbane) i learned how to sew, cook/bake and swam quite often. The responsibilities of employment will be good for me and will help me build my confidence as I grow. This will help me both at school and after school when i am older in transitioning to the workforce or further study full time .
