Supporting staff in their programming and documentation by :

• linking their observations and activity choices to the My Time, Our Place Learning Framework
• providing feedback and resources to support their understanding while reflecting on activities
• offering advice and suggestions for activity extension.

Developing the Induction Process for new staff to allow them to take on information more gradually and meaningfully, as well as improving documentation of staff induction progress.

Creating brief reading and on-floor activities to supplement continued staff development beyond induction.

Developing strategies for the inclusion of children with special needs at the centre, including social stories, visual timetables, and interests-based/sensory activities. Communicating Support strategies to staff.

Liaising with teachers and school staff to ensure quality and continuity of care for children at the centre.

Implementing initiatives and programs including the Be You Program, an optional separate space for year 5-6 children, and mindfulness activities integrated into the routine of the centre.

Supporting children's understanding of the broader community by developing a calendar of culturally significant dates.

Attending committee meetings and leading discussions and group planning in staff meetings.

Planning and implementing Vacation Care Activities including theme days, incursions and excursions.

Leading excursions during Vacation Care, and ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.

Contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan, engaging in reflection, contributing to Risk Assessments, Centre Philosophy, and Policy and Procedure Development.

Supporting staff to meet their responsibilities for active supervision, providing first aid, cleaning/setup, and behaviour management as a team.

Acting as Nominated Supervisor to oversee day-to-day running of the centre when needed.

Supporting play-based learning by joining children in spontaneous play and using questioning, modelling and coaching to guide children through challenges, and inspire deeper thinking.

Planning creative extension activities to introduce new concepts or bring in new challenges to existing areas of interests.

Recognising when children are struggling emotionally or behaviourally and joining them in activities that will help regulate their emotions.

Attending staff meetings and professional development, and contributing to discussions and decision-making.

Preparing and serving food, following guidelines for healthy eating, hygiene, and allergens/dietary requirements.

Maintaining compliance certificates for First Aid and Child Protection; acting as allocated First Aider and following guidelines for reporting child protection concerns.

Working as part of a team to ensure that supervision and safety measures are maintained across all areas of the centre.
