During my employment at Baptist Care I was working on the wards and studying Cert III in Old Aged Care, within their organisation .My time there included.

1.At first I had 2 buddy shifts and then had to care for 7 allotted clients.

2.Assisting with personal care and hygiene ,showering, dressing and toileting.

3. Feeding and preparing individual drinks in accordance to their varying needs in consistency.

4.Changed linen and remade beds.

5.Monitored residents overall health observing vital changes and behaviour .At all times communicating with the RN in charge.

6.Engaged residents in meaning conversations and encouraging participation in activities when appropriate. {Bingo and arts/crafts where favourites}

7. Adhered to privacy and treated everyone with respect and compassion.

8. Most of the clients had Dementia in various different stages.

Tragically my son committed suicide. I had to leave Baptist Care in order to support my four other children and myself during this devastating time.

8.Trained in manual handling, including the use of a hoist.

Tragically my second Son committed suicide 2 and a half years ago. Since then I have had to work on my own Mental Health. In order to support my 4 other children in their grief .

I have 2 young Grandchildren who I care for.
