I am a passionate and experienced tertiary and secondary school educator who uses research to embed and promote high impact learning and teaching. I enjoy writing and thinking about education and the forces that shape policy and practice in the Australian classroom. In addition to my classroom experience, I have worked to develop curriculum, assessment and teacher and student resources with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
In my role as Head of Humanities I am responsible for coordinating a team of 25 teachers across 7 different disciplines. My duties include:
This position is held from November to December on a recurrent yearly contract. The main duty of this role is assessing student examinations in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Examiner.
This role is undertaken on a casual contract basis with the University and involves both the development and presentation of student lectures, the coordination and delivery of tutorials, and the assessment of student assignments. The course is for students undertaking a Master of Teaching or Master of Education qualification with a History method.
The Panel Chair leads the panel preparing the examinations, marking guidelines and accompanying
documentation. They work with the VCAA Examination Development Manager to coordinate panel meetings, work to VCAA timelines and oversee panel responses throughout the reviewing and production processes. The Panel Chair is responsible for ensuring that the examination is accurate, conforms to the examination specifications, and is consistent with the requirements of the study design. The Panel Chair responds to any queries raised about the examination.
A contract position in which I was responsible for editing a current edition of "Analysing Revolutions: America" and writing a teacher resource package for teachers of VCE: Revolutions.
