• General reception and office duties

• Maintained safety protocols when handling animals to minimize risk of injury to both staff members and animals themselves.
• Monitor and provide care for animals including cleaning and maintaining kennels/cages, daily feeding and watering and collection and disposal of solid wastes.
• Ensure accurate record keeping of animal housing and management on associated records.
• Safeguard impounded animals are treated humanely whilst housed at the facility.
• Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines affecting companion animals.
• Follow specific quarantine and disinfection procedures or instructions.
• Maintain food stock levels.
• Observe and report on the health and behavioural problems of animals to the Senior Animal Shelter Officer.
• Effectively restrain and administer oral medications to dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets.
• Signpost animal enclosures as required ie. unwell, dangerous, feral etc.
• Assist with movement of animals during their impounding and/or release including transport of animals to veterinary care as required.
• Assist customers with the adoption walk -throughs of animals in kennel/cattery area.
• Allocation of animals for the desexing program.
• Promote the image of the Campbelltown Animal Care Facility with customers.
• Answer general enquiries, phones and general customer service.
• Assist with microchipping companion animals as required.
• Customer service building and establishing rapport with patients and their families whilst in the clinic.
• Developing and executing effective social media marketing campaigns, such as our Annual Child Influenza
Immunization Day
• Manage and resolve customer complaints or re-direct appropriately
• Complete a wide range of administrative functions, counting and balancing of tills including cash and EFTPOS
transactions, completing end of day processes.
• Experience using file sharing records, Spreadsheet, Google Calendar and other relevant Medical software
• Prepare quotations for a variety of services offered by the practice accurately.
• Scanning and compiling of documents for staff and clients.
• Records management and daily data base entry of patient information into system ensuring all information is
entered accurately ensuring client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Liaise with wholesalers and supplier representatives and all other external organizations.
• Processing payments and finances through internal software Best Practice to Medicare directly.
• General housekeeping, cleaning of work areas and ensuring practice is kept neat and tidy at all times.
• Prepare patient for surgery including prepping surgical site (clip and disinfect), intubation and intravenous
anesthesia induction
• Preliminary triage over the phone and in person of all patients attending the practice. Facilitate and respond to
any emergency or critical situations in an efficient and timely manner.
• Perform and mechanically ventilate (IPPV) patients while monitoring under anesthetic
• Extensive knowledge in peri-operative care for all patients, including (but not limited to): routine, recovery,
emergency and critical care, emergency base triage
• Assist veterinarians with ultrasound and radiograph imaging diagnostics, appropriate animal restraint (DV,
VD, lateral), blood collections, medical examinations
• Comprehensive proficiency & understanding of veterinary nursing procedures, including (but not limited to):
administering subcutaneous, intramuscular & intravenous injections to patients
• Sound experience placing intravenous ports/catheters, blood collection (jugular and cephalic), performing in
house pathology tests to each patient using IDEXX and Heska haematology machines
• Fluid therapy calculation and set up (utilizing both pump and gravity fed options)
• Operate internal in-house blood diagnostic equipment (CBC and biochemistry), centrifuge machine,
refractometer, tonometer, microscope and more
• Read, examine and report in-house clinical pathology: manual capillary tube PCV, urine sediment exams, USG
and total protein results, diff quik stains and microscope slides
• Creating exceptional barista style coffees
• Managing telephone communications
• Handling sales transactions & operating the cash register
• Routinely removed trash and debris from the restaurant up to 3 times a day
• Upkeep of table presentation with clean tableware, spotless glassware, silverware and linens.
• Maintained cleanliness of business dining lounge and work areas clean at all times.

• Set up, replenish and rotate buffet food & drinks according to time of day.
