Our family run business covers all aspects of bathroom installation from
design to completion of which my main duties were tiling, plumbing and electrical work such as:
As well as manual tasks, my role also required me to be creative, organized and dependable to ensure that the customer was fully involved with the design process to allow us to design a bathroom that would exceed their expectations. I always work with high precision and attention to detail to maintain the highest standard of work. My strong numeracy skills allowed me to be involved with running the financial aspect of the business, such as invoicing, calculating costs and quantity of materials needed. I also manage the business social media front on both Facebook and Instagram (@lanarkshiretilingandbathrooms), this involves adding regular content to showcase our work, answering customer queries and advertising.
Something I enjoy doing outwith my full-time work as as a plumber has been to acquire old, run-down properties and restore them to new. Having an all round skillset of manual labour jobs allowed me to work on 2 separate self-led projects of 1-bedroom apartments in which I managed the full operation from purchasing, to rip-out to eventually restore them both to a high standard and sell for profit. This proves I am driven, self-motivated, hard working and a problem solver.
During my time as a fully qualified mechanic my role involved repairing
vehicles and making routine checks to ensure the vehicle was running as
it should be. I learned good technical knowledge and maintaining a
customer friendly attitude. I attended Motherwell college through City and
Guilds to achieve Level 4 a ‘Light Vehicle Maintenance’, passing all tests
both practical and theory. My role involved working alone to strict
deadlines. Being confident, I communicated well with customers to explain
to them the solution for the problem.
