• While working as an operator for Roadwork Industries I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different environments including crushing and screening, civil and asphalting
• In these environments, I was able to carry out the below:- Operating excavators, positracks, rollers, articulated dump trucks, asphalt paver, loaders,profilers
• Drive trucks (medium rigid)- Be responsible for crew truck (ensuring fuel, grease, emulsion and tools are topped up and in working condition)- Maintenance on crushers and screens (Changing and adjusting hydraulic hoses, blow bars as-well as identifying mechanical issues)
• Maintenance on asphalting equipment (pavers, rollers, trucks and trailers)
• Help fitters with servicing trucks and machinery

• Whilst starting my journey within the mines as an operator i have developed as an operator , i have developed a great understanding of the process that is involved within the mining industry.
• This includes the importance of direct communication at all times, including when im not operating machinery, ensuring safety for myself and my team in all areas by following work safety rules and procedure's
• The ability to plan and organise whilst operating and holding responsibility as an operator. Due to developing a great understanding of my my duties and responsibilities as an operator
• I have conducted training with my colleagues as they start their journey within the mining industry

My responsibilities and skill set as an operator includes:

• Operating RDT CAT 793F , CAT 789C and CAT 785C
• Light vehicle
• Conduct prestart and inspections
• Conduct pit maintenance e.g. delineation and signage
• Develop great understanding and being able to use the stop, think, identify, plan, proceed and approach rule whilst being aware of the 7 Safehaven rules on a day-to-day basis.
