I chose electrical engineering as a profession because I am passionate about all things electrical and power generation. I am a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent organizational and time management skills. As a passionate team leader, I value the team’s input and therefore consider myself a valuable team player. Furthermore, I am a high-level problem solver and lateral thinker. My passion has resulted in achieving the status of being a registered Chartered Professional Engineer.

Education includes a master’s degree in Power and Electrical Engineering with experience in areas of Reliability, Maintenance, Shutdown, Power generation, Project Management in the Mining ,Smelting and Power generation industry.

The most recent role is that of Principal Electrical Engineer. In this role, I am responsible for all the electrical EPC for numerous sized power stations ranging from 1MW to 100MW. Another roles include that of Site Services and Electrical Superintendent which includes the responsibility for all site services such as water, saltwater, natural gas and electrical services as well as the Central Workshops including the Shift Trades, Rigger’s and 51 apprentices. I have also been the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent for the entire Nyrstar Port Pirie Smelter (NPPS) site for 12 years. This role included electrical projects which resulted in upgrades to a value over AUD$100 million dollars. The mining part of the career includes working as the E&I Projects Engineer for an Opencast Copper mining and processing company. I also worked as the Electrical Engineer responsible for the mining electrical systems especially 33kV power systems and all the variable speed drives in a heavy mineral’s dune mining and smelting company. Furthermore, my career also included working as a Maintenance Engineer in the Coal mining industry, working on Underground mines, Opencast Mines and Coal processing plants.
