FARM HAND

ATD FARMING

My most current employment deepens my skills and knowledge of the agricultural industry being apart of a large farming operation indulging in the process from planting to harvesting crops including wheat, chickpea and cotton.

This employment in the farming industry has involved tasks including:

- machinery operation and maintenance

- ground work preparing for planting ( operation of slasher, cultivator both 18m wide)

- planting (operation of planter 18m wide)

- harvesting crops (operation of header with 60f front and cotton stripper)

- working both day and night shifts (majority of shifts being 12+ hours)

STATION HAND

Killarney Station
02.2023 - 11.2023

This opportunity of employment enabled me to strengthen my agricultural skills and knowledge as a second year station hand working with a crew of 14 station hands, as well as many other people of other positions and Brahman cattle.
Throughout the season our tasks consisted of:

- mustering (horse back/motorbikes)
- horse work (shoeing, ground work, breakers, riding)
- processing cattle through yards (drafting, vaccinating, recording) - branding (dehorning, tagging, hot branding, castrating)
- general property maintenance (fencing, water leaks, machinery operation)

STATION HAND

Inkerman Sation

Worked on an isolated Station in the Gulf of Queensland, a large property for Brahman cattle alongside a team of 8 other station hands.
Throughout the season our tasks consisted of:

- mustering (horse back/motorbikes)
- processing cattle through yards (drafting, vaccinating, recording) - general property maintenance (fencing, water leaks)

- ensured pens, stalls and farm equipment were clean, sterilized and maintained to support animal and human wellbeing.
