Mackenzie Best

Lived on a family farm from 2014-2018 as a farmer's son. The business comprised as a mixed farming operation, growing mainly cereals and running Merino sheep. Working for my father on the farm when i could was a great passion of mine, learning constantly how to operate a successful and sustainable farm. Since leaving school in 2020, have still been involved in working with the business during particular times.

• Completed 4 seeding programs with Best AG from 2021–2024. Involved in decision-making on processes that contribute to the completion of the programs. Including tractor driving, air-seeder (60ft) operations, sprayer operations, truck driving and other basic maintenance like welding, cutting, problem solving etc.
• Completed 1 harvest program with Best AG in 2023 which included chaser bin driver, header operator and other basic harvest procedures.
• Have been involved in all areas of a mixed-farming system, including, spraying crops, maintaining livestock, and managing feedlots.

As a form of income to help support me while studying I have been working part time as a window cleaner at SA Window Cleaning. This line of working enables myself to complete work during the morning and study during the day.

Skills developed through window cleaning:

• Team leader for many large window cleaning jobs, including Uni SA Magill campus etc. Providing effective client communication, maintaining team productivity and safety, whilst sticking to time schedule.
• Cultivated long-lasting relationships with repeat clients through consistent delivery of workmanship and friendly interactions.
• Assisted with training new team members on best practices in window cleaning techniques and safety procedures for efficient skill development.
• Adapted quickly to changing client needs or preferences during job assignments for maximum satisfaction rates among customers served.

The job consisted of assisting the Cropsmart warehouse during busy times in mixing chemicals, packing, and loading trucks with chemicals ready to be delivered to regional franchised stores.
