Summary

Final-year nursing student with hands-on experience across clinical, administrative, and pharmacy settings. My current role at John Hunter Hospital has equipped me with practical skills in patient admissions, medical record systems, and collaborating effectively with healthcare teams. I also bring a background in community pharmacy, where I assisted in dispensing medications and supporting customer health needs. Clinically, I’m confident in performing respiratory and pain assessments, managing IV therapy (including bolus and burette), and assisting with complex wound care. I am highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to providing safe, patient-centred nursing care in fast-paced environments.

Work History

Administration Officer

John Hunter Hospital
12.2022 - Current

Over the past two years, I have worked as an Administration Clerk in the Admissions Department at John Hunter Hospital, where I have developed strong administrative capabilities and a deep understanding of hospital systems and patient care coordination. My role requires managing a variety of tasks that directly support the delivery of efficient, patient-centred healthcare.

My core responsibilities include processing patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and registrations using the IPM system, ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date. I assist with patient triage, organise appointments and procedures, and play a key role in coordinating with doctors, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals to ensure smooth surgical bookings and continuity of care. I am also responsible for obtaining and documenting patient consent and providing compassionate and professional support to patients throughout their hospital journey.

This position has strengthened my ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks effectively, and maintain strong communication across multidisciplinary teams. It has also deepened my appreciation for the administrative processes that underpin quality healthcare delivery, and further supported my development as a nursing professional.
