• I loved working on a surgical ward so much my manager let me continue to work here during my second year of my graduate program
• Efficiently managing patient care on a high-velocity gastro surgical ward at Joondalup Health Campus, ensuring critical time management and prompt response to patient needs
• Collaborating with nursing teams to provide comprehensive care for up to five patients, either independently or in tandem
• Conducting thorough A-E assessments post-surgery during recovery to evaluate patient stability for ward transfer
• Implementing rigorous post-operative monitoring protocols, including 30-minute observations for 2 hours, followed by hourly and then 4-hourly checks over a 24-hour period
• Diligently inspecting surgical sites, managing wound care, and overseeing the maintenance of drains, IDCs, NGTs, and stoma bags to prevent complications

Delivered comprehensive patient care on L2 at Joondalup Health Campus, specialising in medical, respiratory, and COVID-19 treatments.

• Administered medications, including inhalers and intravenous antibiotics, and performed essential clinical procedures such as ECGs and blood transfusions.
