I am completing my graduate nursing program through West Moreton Health in Prison Health.

While working as a registered nurse in the prisons I have:

• Managed care from admission to discharge.
• Evaluated healthcare needs, goals for treatment, and available resources of each patient and connected to optimal providers and care.
• Evaluated patient histories, complaints, and current symptoms.
• Worked with a wide range of healthcare professionals to provide the best care to my patients.
• Provided care to patients with both acute and chronic conditions.
• Regularly collected blood via venipuncture.
• Responded to medical emergencies, and am trained in advanced life support.
• Provided wound care and developed wound care plans.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process, and management and lifestyle options.
• Administered medications via oral, and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Advocated for patients by communicating care preferences to practitioners, verifying interventions met treatment goals and identifying insurance coverage limitations.

As a babysitter I:

• Played games, worked on puzzles, and read books to young children.
• Prepared healthy, age-appropriate snacks and meals.
• Reassured children when upset providing emotional support and stability.
• Bathed, dressed, and helped with teeth brushing as part of bedtime preparation.
