• Queen Victoria Care/ Aged care (120 hours) I gained essential insights into delivering quality care for elderly patients, especially those with dementia and palliative needs. I also learned about the importance of family-centred care and communication, through my understanding of Aged-care national standards.
• Royal Hobart hospital/ 7A medical specialties Hospital/ Medical (160 hours) Expanded my knowledge of complex medical conditions and further developed my clinical reasoning by linking patient presentations to diagnostic findings and treatment plans. Improved my competence of safe medication administration. I additionally gained confidence in taking a small patient load, prioritising care, and responding to changing clinical needs.
• Royal Hobart hospital/ 2A general medicine Hospital/ Medical (240 hours) Current placement, strengthening my communication with multidisciplinary teams through my delivery of ISBAR handovers. Ensuring I am consistently providing safe and quality care of my patients. Further strengthening my understanding of a variety of medical conditions and using my clinical knowledge to acknowledge signs of deterioration, clinical decline through interpretation of patient presentations.
