I started this new chapter in my life in late 2022. This was a complete career change for myself and my family. After Covid had struck Victoria, The Housing and Building sector was collapsing with all pricing doubling in price and builders collapsing throughout Victoria. Concreting in Victoria was no longer a career that i could provide for my family. I was then introduced to Diamond Drilling Underground In Tasmania, through a well known Australian mine MMG.

Through my experiences of learning this new role, I have found a love for working Underground, and the love for Diamond Drilling.

From completing drilling projects on time by effectively managing work schedules and maintaining optimal productivity levels. All whilst holding the safety standards and wellbeing of all personal around you is the most rewarding.

As the Driller you are responsible for everything that happens in those 12 hours. You are in charge safety of the drilling team by ensuring the established safety protocols and guidelines during operations are followed.

Communication then comes next whether it is with your team members, Head Geologists, the use of a Two Way radio underground with all personal using the same decline as you, or following instructions set out by your Supervisor or SEAC in case of an Emergency.

I enjoy completing drilling projects on time by effectively managing work schedules and maintaining optimal productivity level this then Increases the drilling efficiency. I constantly maintain my drill rig to optimise operating time of the diamond drilling equipment with precision. This then reduces downtime through regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of drilling equipment.

Advanced Concrete and Construction is a locally owned and fully operated family business that i have built from the ground up.

We are dedicated to supplying concrete dive-ways, footpaths, house slabs to our Customers/Builders and Insurance agencies. We do this with excellence and pride. Advanced Concrete and Construction holds the highest values in customer satisfaction with a strong professionally ran team. Being the leader of this team i was personally charge of teaching and ensuring that only the highest standard was acceptable. I worked very closely with heavy industrial machines and equipment, Such as demolition equipment and heavy excavation. Following all safety operating procedures and instructions to insure our safe return.

• Oversaw day-to-day production activities in accordance with business objectives.

Footprint Paving is a locally owned and fully operated family business in Torquay and Geelong surroundings. They are dedicated to supplying concrete dive-ways, footpaths, house slabs to their customers/builders with the very highest of standards.

My time at Footprint Paving I was in charge of a strong professionally ran team. I would be in-charge of the teams safety, insuring that everyone would return home safely. We would work in and around hazardous environments where the correct measures and PPE had to be taken. I was in charge of teaching and ensuring that only the highest standard was acceptable, with concrete you only have one chance to get it correct, and delivering excellence was a must. Throughout my time i worked very closely with heavy industrial machines and equipment, Such as demolition equipment and heavy excavation. Following all safety operating procedures and instructions to insure our safe return.

Arnold Concrete is a locally owned and fully operated family business In Torquay dedicated to providing their customers with impeccable services with very highest of standards. Throughout my time at Arnold Concrete, as a young 21 year old. I was taught Respect, Responsibility, To work with pace while keeping in mind yours and others safety while holding that same strive for perfection. Throughout my time i worked very closely with heavy industrial machines and equipment, while at the same time following all safety operating procedures and instructions. In order for a complete safe site to run, i had to Identify any safety concerns i had and find a solution using the safest possible way. Installed rebar and moulded expansion joints and edges for concrete projects.

Other roles included:

• Set out of framing and boxing and other forming materials to prepare for concrete pours.
• Maintained clean, safe worksite for team safety and to help keep projects on-track.
• Created specific finishes on poured concrete.
