Additional Information

Both Myself and my Husband, David were born and raised in Temora. We have lived all over NSW following his work before settling in Lake Albert 17 years ago, where we raised our 3 sons.
My outside interest's lay in art and craft and in one form or another have been lifelong. I have always “made stuff” although I have no formal art training I am at my best when being creative. Along with drawing, painting, and make jewelry, I enjoy photography, paperarts, creating mixed media art journals, Artists Trading Cards and art dolls and have participated in a number of international swaps. I have experience working with both polymer and air dry clays, have worked with gouache, Watercolor, inks & fluid acrylics. Currently I am engaged in Lino carving, stamp and printmaking and all manner of mixed media.
I am awaiting placement in two online TAFE courses; Art Therapy for Positive Wellness and Art Therapy for Connection and Community
As I find myself increasingly draw to working to help others find themselves, their voice, their hearts passion through self expression in art.

Not mentioned in my resume I have also had experience with aged and dementia care. As personally, I briefly i found myself the full time carer of my aged father whist he suffered from Alzheimer's. After a period of six months he went into an aged care facility, specifically a dementia facility where I assumed the position of his enduring guardian. I was determined to be their for him attempting to visit every second day on average for the next four years. Whist visiting my father found myself spending extending periods of time in his new home environment often interacting with the other residents assisting the nursing staff as much as i could , unofficially volunteering. Helping with feeding and caring for both my father and many of the other residents, assisting the overworked staff where ever i could. I endeavored to occupy and entertain the residents often many laughs were shared and learnt a lot about caring for the elderly, managing behaviors. A lot about finding empathy and compassion for people in that time of their life. Often a confronting experience, especially as it involved my fathers decline, it was often rewarding . I really wanted to mention it as i believe i gained usable life skills and growth as a person from this experience.
