Maree Dirou

Teaching and tutoring children (primarily of Chinese-Australian background) from prep to high-school age, on a casual basis. My role involves teaching mainly English & Writing, with some ESL and early primary Maths.

• I have worked as a self-employed holistic therapist, from home, specializing in hypnotherapy and psychophysical therapy. My business name is still active and I offer my services in these therapies on occasion, by appointment.

• Employed as a freelance private home-tutor, with an agency based in Perth WA, over many years. I tutored primary school students in all subjects and mainly high-school English and Writing. I currently, still offer home tutoring services, through my own business, 'Lotus Healing.'

• Employed as a full-time school teacher on an overseas contract in Ontario, Canada, where I worked with aboriginal or 'First Nation' children/students, in a remote fly-in community. My work included teaching grades 2 & 8, along with a temp role as a resource and support teacher.

• Employed as a full-time Kindergarten and ESL teacher, under contract in Japan. Working with children aged 4-5 years and primary-high school ESL students.

• Employed as a classroom-special needs teacher, during a working holiday in the UK. Teaching primary age children with 'EBD' (Emotional & Behavioural Disturbance), in small classes and an adapted curriculum.
