HSIE Teacher/ Head of Year

Role: Classroom teacher

Teacher of HSIE subjects (Yr 7-12) including Legal Studies, Business Studies, Economics, Geography and Commerce.

Within this role I have:

· Worked collegially to write, resource and edit programs to deliver the NESA syllabuses

· Utilised differentiated strategies to suit the varying ability and needs of students

· Established clear expectations through learning intentions and success criteria

· Designed assessment tasks and provided feedback to improve their learning

· Implemented strategies to increase quality of student writing

Role: Head of Year (HOY)

Middle leader in the area of Student Wellbeing for a total of 14 years, including the past 9 years.

Within this role I have:

· Written and implemented a wellbeing program based on character strengths and College’s Benedictine values

· Supported and mentored students through challenging circumstances, including behavioural issues and conflict resolution.

· Met with students, staff and parents to identify and implement learning supports

· Engaged with parents to implement restorative justice strategies with students as needed.

· Led Pastoral Care teachers to build their capacity to support student learning and their relationships with others.
