Mariam Mhanna

I am a motivated and enthusiastic student eager to gain new work experiences. I have demonstrated strong time management and leadership skills through school and extracurricular activities, including regular babysitting for family members. My active participation in school initiatives has refined my communication abilities, allowing me to develop strong leadership and interpersonal skills. I value teamwork, learning from others, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

I have not gained prior work experience; however, I am willing and eager to acquire new skills and knowledge through any given work opportunities. 

In the past year, my strong work ethic in academia has earned me the honour of receiving multiple subject awards, recognising my dedication, perseverance, and strong performance across various disciplines. These achievements reflect my commitment to excellence, my ability to manage rigorous coursework, and my passion for continuous learning.

Beyond academics, I have actively contributed to my school community through peer support, mentoring younger students and assisting them with both their academic and personal development. This role strengthened my communication and leadership skills, as well as my ability to offer guidance and encouragement in a supportive environment. Additionally, my experience babysitting for family members has further developed my responsibility, patience, and problem-solving abilities, as I have had to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the safety and well-being of children in my care.

Furthermore, I was selected to join my school’s Solar Car team, where I was appointed team leader. In this role, I guided my team and contributed to the collaborative effort that led us to securing first place in the UNSW SunSprint Solar Car Challenge. This experience allowed me to apply my problem-solving and teamwork skills while refining my leadership abilities. It also provided me with hands-on experience in sustainable technology, deepening my understanding of renewable energy and engineering principles.
