My career includes diverse roles within SA Health hospitals, such as Nurse Educator (Level 3), Stomal Therapist/Specialist Wound Nurse (Level 3), and Clinical Nurse (now ANUM-Level 2).
I have extensive experience developing assessments and mentoring graduate nurses and students during their practical rotations and clinical placements.
I have played a key role in developing and updating the EN Diploma Course as it transitioned from a Certificate program and have created educational packages for aged care facilities to address compliance and staffing needs. Currently, I am involved in writing and reviewing two Bachelor subjects for HISA, a university planning to establish a campus in Adelaide.

As an OSCE Examiner for the International Qualified Nurse/Midwife (IQNM) program, I assess the clinical competencies of graduate nurses in Australia. My responsibilities include administering and overseeing Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) to ensure candidates meet high professional standards. I evaluate clinical skills, decision-making, and professional conduct, and serve as a second and final marker for assessments, ensuring accuracy and objectivity. With my nursing and clinical experience, including involvement in the pilot program, I maintain a fair and rigorous examination process. As Director, my role involved applying for and obtaining NDIS registration for the highest level of nursing support.
I also established a Day Option program for disability participants transitioning out of secondary school, which offers a variety of activities designed to build capacity and provide enjoyable experiences.
In my role as a Level 3 Nurse Educator, I was responsible for the running, preparation, and research of several programs, including the NALHN Wound Care Course, Casual/Permanent Pool Annual Education, Peripheral Intravenous Cannulation Program, Peer Support Program, Nursing Clinical Assessment Program, Basic Life Support, Safe Patient Handling, and Medication Calculations.
Additionally, I wrote and updated various policies and procedures to support the approved education programs. For instance, I used evidence-based research to revise the requirements for PIVC accreditation, addressing the low completion rate of the initial program. These changes reduced training costs and significantly improved the completion rate.
As an Academic Liaison, I managed the Clinical Facilitators and addressed all student issues related to clinical placement blocks. This role involved overseeing the coordination and support of clinical placements to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience for students.
In addition to my liaison responsibilities, I served as a Clinical Facilitator for undergraduate nursing students across their clinical placement blocks, spanning years 1 through 3.
I also lectured on a range of subjects, including Health of Older Adults, Health of Infants and Young Children, Health of Adults, Mental Health, Becoming a Registered Nurse, ELA4, and ELA5. My teaching covered diverse aspects of nursing and healthcare, contributing to the comprehensive education of future nursing professionals.

In this role, I collaborated with First Nation's experts on various healthcare topics and arranged for them to be guest speakers throughout the course.
In my current role as a clinical facilitator, I mentor undergraduate RN and EN students across various clinical placement settings within South Australia.

As a Clinical Facilitator, I support undergraduate nursing students during their clinical placement blocks across years 1 through 3, guiding them through their practical experiences.
Additionally, I have lectured in various courses, including NURS1002, NURS2001, NURS2002, NURS2003, NURS3002, NURS3004, and NURS3005, covering a broad range of topics to enhance their academic and professional development.
I served as the primary lecturer for the
'Graduate Certificate in Wound Management course',
which was offered online nationally to doctors, podiatrists, and specialist nurses. In this role, I collaborated with wound care specialists based in South Australia to deliver content and participate in practical assessment workshops held throughout the course.
As a Level 3 stomal therapy and wound care specialist nurse, my role involved providing expert care and support for individuals with complex wound and ostomy issues. I assessed and managed various types of wounds and specialised in the care of patients with ostomies, including colostomies, ileostomies, urostomies and complex wounds.
I served as the Clinical Nurse (now referred to ANUM) for Ward 7C, which specialised in Colorectal/Gastrointestinal and Surgical step-down care. In this role, I was responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients and mentor graduate nurses and students on rotation in the ward.
I worked as a Registered Nurse across various specialties, including ICU, HDU, Respiratory, Urinary, Renal, ENT, and Breast Endocrine. In these roles, I provided comprehensive patient care in critical and specialised areas, adapting to the diverse needs of patients across different medical conditions and treatment requirements.

Campbelltown City Council Disability Access and Inclusion Committee.
In this capacity, I contribute to discussions on strategies for collaboration and inclusion, with the goal of enhancing accessibility and improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities in the local community.
