Patient Care and Clinical Services:

• Provide general and chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, diabetes, hypertension). Perform spirometry, immunisations, wound care, and ECGs. Conduct health screenings and routine checks (blood pressure, blood tests, etc.). Administer vaccinations and injections, including travel health advice.

Health Promotion and Education:

• Offer lifestyle advice (e.g., smoking cessation, diet, and exercise). Educate patients on disease prevention and management.

Collaborative Teamwork:

• Work closely with GPs, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to ensure holistic patient care. Support multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.

Clinical Administration:

• Maintain accurate patient records using clinical systems (e.g., BP). Ensure infection control protocols and clinical governance standards are met. Manage repeat prescriptions and medication reviews where appropriate.

Professional Development:

• Keep up to date with current nursing practices, guidelines, and training requirements. Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development (CPD).

Permanent Part-time

• Staff nurse on a busy and dynamic CardioThoracic, Vascular and ENT ward
• Demonstrates ability to promptly assess, plan, organise, evaluate and deliver holistic nursing care within scope of practice
• Responsible for 5-7 patients with proficiency in telemetry monitoring, ECG interpretation, surgical wound management with VAC, PREVENA, VeraFlo and PICO dressings, proficient with Underwater Seal Drains, Bellovac drains, JP drains and MiniVac
• Actively and effectively communicates multidisciplinary team to prioritise, articulate concerns in day-to-day clinical care as well as contribute to patient care directives
• Effectively manages in-patients, admissions, transfers and discharges to ensure continuity of care as well as prioritising safety and quality
• Proactive and update with continuing education and professional development through regular attendance at ward in-services, online education packages and hospital grand rounds
• Solid computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems for discharge, risk assessment, incident management reporting, handover as well as legible, accurate and concise written progress notes and care plans
• Demonstrate leadership in the management of support staff including AINs, nursing students and able to induct new staff and agency to the unit.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families/cares and members of the multidisciplinary team
• Proactive team player and role model that is committed to upholding practices that reflect organisational values
• Committed to professional development and continuing education to improve service quality
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to handle a rotating roster and overtime shifts
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Suite, Hospital Intranet, RiskMan, WebPas, Visage, SEALS Pathology, Ambulance booking, online hospital procedures and policies

• Supported nursing staff with complex and/or challenging patient care needs

• Short rotations within ED, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Maternity Ward, Paediatrics, Neonatal ICU
• Foundational nursing skill development at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with recognised nursing frameworks
