Fire Assay 6 month experience

I worked in a warehouse with a team of 4 people to process precious metals inside mineral samples to determine how much content for example gold, is in each sample.

Skills

• Time management skills/working under pressure
• Using a forklift loader/lifter to acquire pots to setup
• Potting up samples within 3-4 minutes
• Separating slag from buttons, weighing buttons and entering into the computer
• Muffling, which is the process of cupellation
• Safely handling heavy/hot items of equipment and hazardous chemical
• Hand-eye coordination during pot up and knocking up buttons
• Recognizing and identifying the cause of non-acceptable received and fused samples, buttons
• Change room cleans as well as cleaning the work area thoroughly (vacuuming, wiping down, wet sweeping, wrapping samples, ETC)
• Experience with work in hot conditions and close to heat

My role was to balance each shift between making orders for customers quickly and correctly and to clean the back of house such as floors, equipment, dishes and more. By completing the cleaning at the back quickly and effectively, it allowed me to help out the team with orders when it got busy and get the orders done so we make our customers happy and don't fall behind with the workload for the shift.
