Over two decades, I've merged my passion for programming and development with 3D animation and art, creating a skill set that I believe is distinctly unique.
This main project involves the design, development, and deployment of a cataloging system for AML3D clients, enabling them to upload, manage, preview, and queue their 3D models efficiently. The system will feature secure access control with a role-based authorization framework.
Key components for the project include:
This system offers a seamless, user-friendly experience for AML3D clients to manage their 3D assets with robust security and flexible access controls.
Outside of the 9-5 I do freelance multimedia work under the name pixelNinja. Some of those projects have included:
To allocate more time for Think.Digital, I shifted to part-time status at Lumary temporarily. This adjustment allowed me to delve deeper into Think.Digitals web app development, 3D modeling and animation projects.
Covering both front-end and back-end web development, specialising in crafting high-quality, responsive HTML5 sites, WordPress themes, and custom PHP/Laravel projects.
With a focus on writing clean, object-oriented JavaScript code that prioritises readability and reusability. Staying updated on UX/UI trends, I take pride in transforming client concepts into sleek, modern, and efficient websites.
The workflow involved using CSS preprocessors and employing various NodeJS tools to minimize, package, and deploy sites. Additionally, I handled maintenance and customisation tasks for several PHP-based OpenCart ecommerce sites.
Translating layout and content into a HTML5/JS format for Catapult's eLearning courses in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0
In my capacity as the lead digital developer and later as the technical director, I oversaw all aspects of operations within an eLearning company. This encompassed pivotal responsibilities, including strategic decision-making regarding technology adoption, staff recruitment, and the day-to-day maintenance of our online services.
Specifically, my role involved a spectrum of tasks such as setting up and managing Moodle 1.9 & 2.5 environments, customizing PHP for tailored enhancements including payment systems and third-party integrations. I also handled Drupal and Joomla CMS installations and modifications, developed standalone software products, engaged in general graphic design, and spearheaded the development of intricate web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP/MySQL.
Additionally, my contributions extended to crafting precise 3D medical animations, managing websites, undertaking mobile app development, and overseeing video production inclusive of scripting, filming, editing, and CG enhancements.
In my role as a Visual Communications Technologist within the SA Ambulance Communications and Marketing Team, I was instrumental in developing multimedia content for internal stakeholders and the general public. This encompassed diverse projects such as touchscreen kiosk development, creation of mobile apps for iOS and Android, production of engaging viral videos, eCard development, and 3D animation.
Initially engaged to launch SA Ambulance's eLearning programs, I collaborated with SA Health ICT to deploy requisite technology across the state. Working closely with SA Health's trainers, I curated online content for a blended learning approach and mandated training. This involved the installation and maintenance of various CMSs, predominantly custom Drupal installations, tailored for internal use. The content created amalgamated text, images, video/animation, and occasionally involved DVD production.
My multifaceted skill set in multimedia proved pivotal, as SA Ambulance lacked personnel with expertise in these areas, allowing me to significantly contribute to the organisation's communications endeavors.
As a Multimedia Officer, my primary focus involved crafting eLearning content for SA Health while also contributing to video production and the development of interactive 3D games.
In this role I developed course content that I delivered as part of the Certificate IV in Multimedia. Topics included:
Collaborating with the Snoswell Design team, I contributed to the pre-production phase of the animated movie 'Gnomeo and Juliet' during its time as a Disney project. My responsibilities encompassed conducting animation and movement tests for several main characters. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in developing and testing rendering techniques and technology for the film. Alongside these tasks, I provided support in the advancement of Snoswell Design's CgHuman technology.
