  • Since 2018 I have continued to work freelance on shutdowns in the mining industry throughout Australia
  • Projects would often last one or two weeks, and I would take unpaid leave from my federal employer to complete these projects
  • Although the tasks and locations would differ, I was often employed as a supervisor and over saw HSE matters for the shut down and worked in conjunction with the site/ client HSE team
  • I would coordinate the workforce to allow for simultaneous operations and would organise information sessions for the client
  • I have also returned to my roots as a tradesman working on the tools at times
  • This is a great way of staying in touch with what is happening on ground level and recognising the challenges to the work force.
