Technical Training Specialist

Onboarding of new recruits into the business and ensuring training accounts and system access is granted prior to the commencement of training.

  • Facilitation and delivery of our 8-Week foundational training program, to new recruits commencing roles in the Victorian Worker's Compensation scheme. This program is a combination of theoretical and practical training.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement revisions to training programs that meet organisational needs and industry requirements as set out by WorkSafe Victoria.
  • Liaising monthly with WorkSafe Victoria's Learning & Capability Team to review current trends in the learning and development space. This is also a great opportunity to collaborate with WorkSafe on projects aimed to improve service delivery and capability that benefits the scheme as a whole.
  • Development and implementation of a Case Manager Skills Matrix competency framework. This is now being utilised to measure the development and capability of case managers that are new to scheme over a 3,6 and 9 month period post-training
  • I am also the project lead on the development of a skills matrix framework for our Legal Technical Managers.
  • Professional coaching and development of existing staff wishing to upskill/transition into specialist roles in the business. This includes advanced policy/legislation coaching, business writing skills and effective communications/negotiations training.

Senior Claims Specialist

  • Multi-Disciplinary and Long-Term claims management from 0-130 weeks.
  • Providing timely support to injured workers and employer clients on various claims management aspects such as financial, treatment and rehabilitation entitlements.
  • Liaising regularly with injured workers and developing strong working relationships to ensure that they are receiving the help and support needed to recover from their injuries, be it physical and/or psychological.
  • Assisting injured workers and employers in facilitating return to work plans and ensuring compliance of all parties with claim obligations and responsibilities.
  • Completing entitlement reviews on claims to ensure that injured worker's entitlements comply with WorkSafe's statutory and legislative requirements under the Accident Compensation Act 1985 and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
  • Taking on interim leadership role and providing management/guidance to my team in the absence of our team leader. This included running daily team meetings and assisting team members with complaint escalations, complex claim support and general enquiries
  • Involved in facilitating training to our new recruits in both a group setting and one-on-one sessions both face to face and virtually during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • Appointed as Teamwork Culture Ambassador for CGU Worker's Compensation working to build effective collaboration across the organisation nationally.

Fraud Investigator

Accomplishments

  • Successfully investigated and deterred approximately $50 Million in fraudulent insurance claims which resulted in subsequent criminal prosecution. This was accomplished over the course 4 years working as a Fraud Investigator. I was also recognised with a National Outstanding Achievement Award for this.
  • Whilst working as a Senior Claims Specialist with CGU Worker's Compensation, I was awarded the Excellence in Claim Management Award 2020 after only 12 months in my role. This award is recognised for the level of client support delivered in relation to Workplace injury claims managament.
  • During my current employment as a Technical Training Specialist, my team were recently award the 'Gallagher Way' Award in recognition of our training delivery which uplifted capability and competency of our claims staff from 63% at the beginning of 2022 to 93% by July 2023.
