Advocates for patient safety and high standard of care by ensuring National Standards and ACORN standards are followed and practiced.

• Manages and oversees ordering and inventory of VRU/Cataracts consumables and equipment, ensuring ample stock levels and timely re-stocking.
• Facilitates trials and arranges in-services regarding different types of lenses/prosthesis/consumables/drugs and equipment to keep staff updated about latest developments in VRU/Cataract surgeries.
• Communicates any change in procedures and practice to team to ensure smooth delivery of patient care.
• Supports research projects, working with surgeons and sponsors, ensuring confidentially and protocols are adhered to.
• Encourages staff development through performance appraisals and constructive feedback.
• Rotates with other ANums in managing floor, allocating staff and addressing staff requirements.

• Provides perioperative nursing care to patients in wide variety of eye and ear procedures like cataract surgery/Phaco and IOL insertion, vitreo-retinal detachment surgery, glaucoma surgery, general eye/plastics surgery, cochlear implant surgery, mastoidectomy, stapedectomy, FESS, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, micro-laryngoscopy.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills to prioritize nursing care based on patient's individual needs.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying surgeons/anaesthetists and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.
• Administers medications safely according to established guidelines while closely monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions requiring intervention.
• Assists in training and mentorship of new nursing staff members, contributing to positive work environment and high-quality patient care.
• Serves as preceptor for nursing students/new staff, providing guidance to foster professional growth.

• Provided perioperative nursing care to patients in variety of general and maternity surgical procedures such as laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, mastectomy, vein stripping, caesarean section, normal spontaneous delivery, hysterectomy; gastroentorology procedures, ophthalmology procedures and ear, nose and throat surgery.
• Performed accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with standards.
