Summary

I am currently employed at both St. John of God Private and Public Hospital in Midland and Royal Perth Hospital, working in busy fast-paced emergency departments caring for both paediatric and adult patients. I completed my Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing and a Graduate Diploma in Nursing at the University of Notre Dame. In 2018 I commenced my Graduate Program as a registered nurse at St. John of God Midland and in an acute medical ward. Commencing a full-time position in the Midland emergency department in 2019, I sought to broaden my exposure to acute trauma presentation, applying successfully for a part-time position within Royal Perth Hospital's emergency department in July 2022. This provides me with an opportunity to enhance my clinical and interpersonal communication skills within a tertiary hospital, and my capacity to lead and direct a team in an empathic, patient-centred approach. This provided me with further exposure to a vast variety of presentations; cardiac, renal, COVID-19, endocrine, respiratory (COPD, asthma), mental health, infectious diseases, pain management and palliative care among others. Through my time working in the emergency department, I have sought to continuously improve upon my clinical and professional skills, as evidenced by my role progression and completed competencies as an Airway Nurse, Critical Care Lead, Emergency Medical Ward Lead, Triage Lead, Assessment Pod Leader, Allocation Nurse, Disposition Nurse and Shift Coordinator. In December 2023 I commenced my position as a Clinical Nurse at Midland Emergency Department, working to achieve multiple time-sensitive priorities, in a sometimes resource-stretched environment. I have delegated tasks where appropriate creating learning opportunities for junior nurses to acquire new skills and enhance their practice. I am responsible for developing and facilitating best practices to meet departmental and individual needs and being knowledgeable of the policies governing my practice. I am constantly upholding the NSQHS Standards by implementing change through quality improvement and am a portfolio holder for Standard NSQHS 3: Preventing and Controlling Infections Standard.

Healthcare professional with strong background in patient care and medical support. Known for collaborative work with medical teams to deliver high-quality care and adapt to evolving patient needs. Expertise in patient assessment and medication administration, along with compassionate care and reliability.
