• Organized and managed care of patients in pre-, peri and post operative stage of their health care journey.

• Maintained safe and quality care and comfort for patients requiring tailored knowledge specific to managing: subdural haematomas, subarachnoid haemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, post operative wound management.

2nd Rotation: General Medicine

August to December

• Utilised critical thinking to prioritise and delegate the needs of a complex patient load with 1:1 security high risk of aggression patients.
• Facilitated therapeutic communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention by redirecting negative behaviors and helping patients regain or improve coping abilities.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process, and management and lifestyle options.
• Trained new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
