Work History

Stock Hand

Niel Last
01.2023 - Current

As a stock hand at Wallumba I inducted cattle, I was able to identify and treat the sick ones while cutting them out of mobs on horse back. While at the feedlot I also did plenty of mustering, general maintenance including putting up and maintaining fences around the paddocks and learnt to drive certain machinery such as a loader, bobcat, feedtruck and extended my experience on tractors. Being a penrider at Wallumba also added to my experience of being able to read cattle and handle them in a low stress manor. At this job I have also done a lot of bull handling with clients such as freeze branding, helping take photo/videos and a little bit of semen testing although I do not have the equipment to do it on my own.

Station Hand
