Work History

Electrical Engineer

NSSG
03.2023 - Current
  • Complete Root Cause Analyses of submarine failures by testing componentry around the submarine and reviewing documented manuals
  • Review design changes, verifying that they meet user needs, legal requirements and electrical standards
  • Complete Risk Assessments regarding design changes, failure recurrence, deviations from electrical standards, and user error
  • Compute Bodies of Knowledge to advise design engineers on associated sub-systems, define design requirements and inform design changes to Ship Staff including through technical manuals

Research Assistant

UoA Terahertz Laboratory
01.2024 - 11.2025
  • Designed and fabricated an all-dielectric, frequency-diverse antenna that produces spatially distinct radiation patterns for Terahertz DoA estimation, achieving an average 1.8 dBi directivity improvement within the FOV and doubling the source-receiver range over previous prototypes
  • Developed an interdisciplinary pipeline integrating antenna outputs with a Convolutional Neural Network, extending localisation capability from single-source to multi-source DoA estimation
  • Work led to a joint first-author publication in NPJ Wireless Technology (accepted) and a keynote presentation at IRMMW-THz 2025.

Electrical Design Engineer

ASC
07.2024 - 09.2024
  • Authored and documented design modifications to resolve component obsolescence issues and failures in submarine systems
  • Managed component sourcing, liaising with suppliers to secure stock and identify alternative for obsolete parts

Summer Vacation Program Student

DSTG
11.2022 - 02.2023
  • Developed a low-noise audio-frequency pre-amp for piezoelectric sensors that met resolution, space and bandwidth requirements
  • Simulated circuitry in SPICE to optimise the model, then constructed PCB prototypes to test performance

Education

B.E.(Hons)(E&E) with BSc - Physics

University of Adelaide
11-2025

Skills

  • Programming & Software: Python, MATLAB, C, LaTeX
  • EDA & Simulation: Altium Designer, CST Studio Suite, SPICE
  • Data Analysis & ML: Machine Learning, Signal Processing
  • Engineering: RF/Analog Electronics, Sensor Design, PCB Design
