Summary

Graduated from St Josephs College December 2017 aged 17 with a Year 12 SACE completed and passed in Advanced Maths, Physics, English, Design and Technology (Year 12 DUX) and Physical Education.

Immediately starting as a deckhand fishing for Vongole on The Westcoast of South Australia.

2018....After a full season obtained my Coxswains Grade 1 NC, Radio Longrange Operater (LROCP), Elements of Shipboard Safety.

Took over the complete running of Marine Scale Licence M021 and fished single handed the 8 ton of quota associated with that licence.

2019.....Continued to fish the Vongole quota as well as taking on a deckhand job on prawn vessel F.V. "Liberty" in the Spencer Gulf Prawn Fishery. Worked as a trainee deckhand for the season which was very beneficial learning the benefits and logistics of a marine team environment, large vessel skills and working long hours at sea especially at night.

2020....After a traineeship on "Liberty" took a fulltime

deckhand job on F.V".Bartalumba" (Prawn) run by Berth 9 fishing company and worked my way up over two seasons to lead deckhand which entailed training new employees and managing deck operations. Between prawn trips continued fishing the family fishing quota on M021.

2021/22/23....Acquired more Vongole quota and fished that as well as branching into longline and drop lining for shark, nannagai and line fishing for wrasse.

Also took on another job driving and shelling on Abalone boat for J&K Newton Enterprises in Elliston my home port. This gave me a whole new skill set of looking after a diver in many different sea conditions whilst shelling abalone and manoeuvering the vessel in all kinds of sea states.

Additional Information

As well my commercial fishing career have skippered our family vessel "Latitude 32" a 57 ton 60 foot fibreglass boat on extended trips off and along the Queensland coast where it is based.

Spent many hours at sea in my teenage years on our family's 45 ft power catamaran cruising the Indonesian and Thailand coasts.

I have a strong passion for working in a marine environment and at the age of 24 am very motivated to further my maritime career outside commercial fishing in the port operations industry.

I have listed below my previous employers who can be contacted for both verbal and written references.
