As an Independent Duty Medical Technician I was responsible for providing routine and acute care to an empanelment of 100+ patients in an outpatient clinical setting. I conducted comprehensive physical exams, diagnosed a wide array of illnesses and injuries, and prescribed medications for treatment. I am trained and certified to conduct minor outpatient surgical procedures under the supervision of a Medical Doctor, perform minor dental work for emergency stabilization, manage critical patients in an emergency setting and in the pre-hospital field setting. Other responsibilities that were expected of me where to manage oversight of flight rated personnel to include pilots and ground crew in which I conducted routine flight exams and vision/hearing inspections for FAA compliance. I am trained in Aeromedical evacuation procedures and flight medicine to include stabilization of critical patients for transport via aircraft.
