Electrical Control Systems: Diagnosed and repaired electrical control systems, including operator controls and instruments. Worked closely with electrical engineers to ensure proper integration of control systems into hydraulic machinery.
Modifications: Engineered hydraulic system modifications and installed auxiliary circuits, improving machinery performance and system efficiency (excavators, drill rigs, etc.).
Project Leadership: Led major rebuilds of large-scale machinery such as drill rigs, ensuring systems were efficient, reliable, and met client specifications.
Hydraulic Power Units: Designed, built, and commissioned hydraulic power units (HPUs), ensuring tailored solutions for each client’s needs.
Collaboration: Worked closely with hydraulic engineers to design and modify systems to meet operational requirements.
Rebuilds: Led contracted rebuild projects, providing expertise in hydraulic repair.
Reporting: Built custom hydraulic calculators using Excel to design systems, check efficiency, and report on system performance, helping clients optimise their hydraulic systems and reduce operational costs.
Hydraulic Design Software: Utilised Hydrosym and other tools to create accurate hydraulic schematics and facilitate system upgrades.
Hydraulic Components: Very familiar with hydraulic components from brands such as Danfoss, Rexroth, Eaton, Wavoil, and other leading manufacturers.
Periodic Replacement & Condition Monitoring Strategies: Expertly identified when to implement a periodic part replacement strategy or condition monitoring strategy to maintain system reliability, prevent costly breakdowns, and optimise equipment uptime.
