HEAD OF DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To set a clear vision for inclusive education aligned with the school's values and strategic goals
• To promote a culture of equity, respect and support for all learners and staff working within the department
• To lead and manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes and practices that support students with diverse learning needs
• Write individual student Learning Profiles
• Oversee identification, assessment and support plans such as ILP's for students with educational needs
• Support classroom teachers and their teaching practices
• Provide staff with professional development and individual coaching
• Oversee the scheduling of PSG meetings
• Assist with student educational pathways
• Maintain up-to-date NCCD documentation
• Ensure the school complies with the relevant legislation such as the Disability Standards
• Write applications for VCAA Special Exam Provisions
• Prepare and complete State funding
• Management of the department budget
• Allocation and coordination of Inclusive Education Teachers and Learning Support Officers to specific students & classes on a daily basis

• HEAD OF DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and document strategies and programs to meet the needs of individual students
• Write individual student Learning Profiles
• Oversee student entry testing
• Chairing of PSG meetings
• Coordination of communication with parents and teachers of students within the department
• Oversee student educational pathways in consultation with specific parties
• Prepare and regularly update NCCD documentation
• Maintain current knowledge of changes to VCAA requirements for Special Provisions
• Development of Study Skills Programs for individual students
• Communicate with the Teaching and Learning Coordinators, School Curriculum Coordinator and Heads of School as required
• Assist with professional learning needs for all teaching staff in relation to Inclusive Education
• Prepare and complete all related funding and grant applications
• Management of the department budget
• Allocation and coordination of Teachers and Aides to specific students on a daily basis based on student needs, funding allocation and specific teacher assistance requests
