years of professional experience

Recently completed a Bachelor of Technology (Aeronautical) at Edith Cowan University, with a project background spanning aerodynamics and structural design. Final-year project involved refining pitot tube geometry to reduce measurement error and improve stability during wind tunnel testing, using MATLAB for data analysis and iterative validation against test results. Also completed a bridge design project covering load analysis and structural sizing. Seeking to apply this project experience to an entry-level role in engineering design, testing or structural analysis.

Work History

Internship & Final Year Project

2 Months
Edith Cowan University - Engineering Projects | 12.2024 - 02.2025

Pitot Tube Design and Wind Tunnel Performance Analysis

  • Analysed and refined Pitot tube designs to improve airflow measurement accuracy and performance in wind tunnel testing applications.
  • Applied aerodynamic principles and engineering analysis to evaluate measurement performance, identify potential design improvements, and support more reliable experimental testing.
  • Used MATLAB to process experimental data, analyse results, and assess Pitot tube performance, supporting evidence-based engineering decisions.
  • Interpreted technical data and prepared engineering reports documenting findings, evaluating potential issues, and recommending design improvements.
  • Collaborated with team members to troubleshoot technical challenges, coordinate project tasks, and deliver project objectives.
  • Applied knowledge of aerodynamics, control systems, and propulsion to strengthen understanding of aircraft measurement systems and practical engineering applications.

Structural Vibration Monitoring Instrument Design

Academic Project, ENM2104
  • Designed a low-cost, solar-powered wireless monitoring system for early detection of bridge fatigue, integrating an ADXL355 MEMS accelerometer, ESP32 microcontroller and LoRaWAN communication to enable remote structural vibration monitoring.
  • Determined the sampling rate using the Nyquist criterion and evaluated analogue-to-digital conversion (ADC) resolution, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) frequency resolution and wireless transmission time to support reliable vibration analysis while minimising power consumption.
  • Performed a root-sum-square measurement uncertainty analysis to assess compliance with accuracy requirements, and calculated the total cost per installed monitoring node to evaluate affordability and scalability for bridge monitoring applications.
  • Assessed the power budget, solar charging capacity and communication duty cycle to support energy-efficient operation and inform the system’s suitability for long-term remote deployment.

Wind Farm Automaton: Mechanism Design

Academic Project,Engineering Dynamics ENS2113

• Designed a hand-cranked wind turbine model combining a gear train, cam-follower, lever and slider-crank mechanisms.

• Carried out kinematic, torque and energy calculations and ran a SolidWorks motion simulation to verify uniform rotation and cam-follower displacement.

• Assessed shaft torsional stress and crank bending stress against PLA material limits, recommended a thicker crank, and validated the concept with a cardboard prototype.

Other Academic and Personal Projects

• Flood mitigation trade-off analysis (Fitzroy River): weighted-criteria comparison of drainage options (channel ranked first) and prevention options (levees and dikes ranked first).

• Water temperature monitoring instrument: technical proposal for a solar-powered floating instrument to record surface temperature of water deposits in an IGNIS bushfire research scenario.

• Vibration sensor lab: sensor data analysis in technical report.

• Bridge design: load analysis and structural sizing. HVAC design project.
