Dr Meifang (Mia) Zhu is a 3rd year DClinDent postgraduate student at Griffith University. Mia graduated from Griffith University with academic excellence in Bachelor of Dental Science and practised as a general dentist in South-East Queensland. Mia is a member of Royal Australasia College of Dental Surgeon through primary examination with 4 commendations.Mia also completed a postgraduate diploma in implantology and a residency program in prosthodontics before commencing endodontic specialization. Mia's knowledge and experiences in various aspects of general dentistry have set a solid foundation in endodontic diagnosis, treatment planning and patient management. Mia is a recipient of ADAQ bursary award in 2020.
Mia enjoys various aspects of of contemporary endodontic procedures and has aspecial interest in endodontic microsurgery and themanagement of dental trauma. Over the last 3 years, Mia has completed over more than endodontic treatments through the endodontics program at Griffith University dental clinic and by providing endodontic treatments in private practice.
Mia's research interest is to investigate the role of photobiomodulation in symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and pain management. Mia is an active member of the Australian Society of Endodontics, the American Association of Endodontists, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontics, and the Australia Dental Association, as well as being a fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
Before Dentistry, Mia worked as a registered nurse in critical care, ICU, and operating theatres in China, USA and Australia, with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Mia also holds a Bachelor of Chinese Literature and studied Master of Public Health. MIa is fluent in English and Mandarin.
