  • Working in a hospital setting was definitely different compared to a clinic. Much more responsibilities which included assisting patients with personal and daily care such as, bathing/showering/toileting and dressing.
  • Helped feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves due to disability or illness.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff in the wards. Clearing out any hazards that could jeopardize anyone's safety.
  • Assisting in transferring patients around the hospital with care. Using the hospital equipment with care such as the wheelchair and bed.
  • Observed patient's physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reported any changes minor or major to nurse or supervisor.
  • Answered patient bells and responded efficiently to their requests in a timely manner.
  • Interacted positively with patients and family members of patients while caring.

  • Working as a Health care assistant in a clinic was definitely an amazing experience personally. I was able to monitor patient vital signs, check blood pressure and also triage patients daily.
  • Another part of my daily work was to call and book appointments for immunisation's, scans and check ups.
  • Assisting patients with their needs, maintaining a clean and safe environment for the staff and patients.
  • Also supporting the nurses and doctors with their needs, along with administration.
  • I participated in training sessions to update certificates, collaborated with my work members to coordinate patient care plans.
  • I also would speak out if I had any concerns within my work, my communication was effective with my colleagues as well as my patients. I provided comfort to my patients if they addressed any issues they had, If I couldn't resolve the issue on my own I would seek help from the nurses and if needed, the Doctors.
