Melissa uses a range of proven approaches in her practice to help couples heal and reconnect having dedicated herself to a life of learning. A Clinical Member of the Australian College of Relationship Counsellors and PACFA College of Psychotherapy, Melissa is also one of the few therapists in the country to have received training from the world’s most renowned pioneer in couples counselling, Dr. Stan Tatkin, founder of the PACT Training Institute. Melissa has used the innovative Psychological Approach to Couple Therapy for over 11 years in her practice now. She is a Certified PACT Therapist, PACT Faculty Member, Ambassador, and Coach for the PACT Institute in Los Angeles. She often presents PACT at conferences, mental health workshops, and trainings. Melissa also facilitates supervision groups with other couple therapists across Australia to receive the most optimal couple therapy guidance available, including internationally. Known for her warmth and engaging personality, Melissa’s ability to identify and help people work through many of the key issues facing couples today has had a profound and transformative effect on many of her clients’ lives. She has helped thousands of individuals and couples gain insight into their relationship problems, resolve ongoing conflict, re-create sexual connection and work towards maintaining and developing a secure functioning relationship. Through private sessions (individually or as a couple) as well as through couple intensive retreats, Melissa has created her programme to help couples decipher behaviour patterns within their relationship that will help them to move towards love, intimacy, connection and happiness. Melissa believes that change happens in people when more unconscious dynamics are understood and worked through. The importance of understanding relational trauma is central to long-term change and this is an area Melissa specialises in. Located in Pymble, Melissa works with clients both locally in Sydney and across the world, helping couples to transform their relationships! She is also accredited in delivering therapy online. Melissa’s passion also lies in her work as a clinical psychotherapist. With the influence of relational theorists and psychodynamic approaches she works with individuals in long-term psychotherapy and self-analysis.
