Melissa Nobrega

Melissa is an experienced Founder, Social Entrepreneur and Board Director with 20 years experience in global Financial Services marketing and communications. More recently she has spent the past 10 years working in the Not For Profit sector, founding her own organisation in 2014, which is still thriving today.

She has significant Board experience in Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Non Executive positions; as well as working with Government, aligning with their priorities, to deliver outcomes for service users.

A skilled and diverse fundraiser, she built Caring Cooks from a table top organisation to one employing 56 staff with an annual income of $3 million per annum. She has extensive commercial and governance knowledge, strategic thinking and an impact driven mindset.

• Lobbied Government of Jersey to successfully deliver a policy change to allow Payroll Giving to be eligible for tax reclaims, at the end of the 12 month term, enabling charities to benefit from an additional 20% on donations through payroll
• Developed an effective and functional platform, well respected by other charities in Jersey, delivering ideas and solutions
• Lobbied Government of Jersey Income Tax to allow data capture online to be used for automated tax rebate processing which will deliver dramatically increased income generation and available for all charities

Part of an Executive Committee focussed on providing community events for parents and students and fundraising for important projects.  In 2024, I am developing and leading the strategic income generation planning for a Ninja Warrior course for Prep to Year 3 children.
