I was born in Australia and lived here until I was 13 years old. Along with my family I was fortunate enough to travel the world for 24 years and live in some amazing countries. I lived in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom. In 2022 we decided to move back to Australia with our two kids to be closer to family. I have worked in many areas of childcare over the past 24 years which included Schools, Private Daycare, Nanny for Professional Families, Sport Club leader and also Special Educational School.
As the current Lead Educator in Pre-Kindy I have worked hard to learn and implement the EYLF and the implementation of 'Teach a Rainbow' curriculum. On a daily basis I lead my team in supporting their role as educators, ensure that they have a clear understanding of the EYLF , quality of teaching, national law and regulations, that workplace heath and safety is implemented and the care and support at all times of the children in our care. I implement and support health and hygiene in the children with support of toileting and meal times. I ensure that the team and myself are providing an inclusive, safe, inviting, fun environment for the children to learn and grow.
I worked at The Courtyard Nursery School which is apart of the Pathways Nurseries Group. I was a Lead Early Years Educator. I provided endless opportunities for the children to learn using the Indoor and Outdoor Environment. This supported the growth and development in a fun, safe, healthy and inclusive caring environment. The needs of the children were met through individual learning goals alongside using the EYFS Curriculum as a guidance. Alongside this my role was committed to emphasizing the importance of promoting care, learning and development through practical activities and positive relationships with both other children and Educators. Health and Safety of both Educators and children was implemented at all times. Other duties included providing nutritious meals and snacks and daily hygiene care along with teaching and implementing basic 'British Values' of sitting at a table and engaging in conversation at meal times whilst supporting the skills of learning how to use a knife and fork.
Whilst working for The Courtyard Nursery School i covered a 6 month Maternity Leave position as the Deputy Director of the Centre. This gave me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills. I was involved in the achievement of obtaining an 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted at the centre which was a big achievement and a reflection of my knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Curriculum and leadership skills.
