Tunnel & Ground Engineering Supervisor

HBM Project - Sewer Line Rehabilitation under the Yarra River - Self Performing majority of the works.

Ground Improvement for Shaft's plugs and Mining Tunnel:

  • Advise and Implement quality of works required from subcontractors - Ensure quality of grout (density, viscosity and sample collection take at the right time during jetting), accurate volumes used per columns, Jet Grout Rig's parameters respected.
  • Control and improve end of works quality checks and their documents - Permeability test, pick targeted areas to check the block treated, correct and regular density checks.
  • Analyse and report quality of works in assistance of geotechnical engineer.
  • Manage and Coordinate subcontractors for jet grouting works - Prestart, toolbox, safety on site.

Shaft Excavation and Well preparation:

  • Pile capping staging process and put it on power point for workforce to use and follow.
  • Comparing techniques of excavation to optimise production. Regular checks with survey.
  • Coordinating and Monitoring of quantities excavated and spoil disposal.
  • Permanent concrete slab.

Head Wall:

  • Structural form work and reinforced concrete pour of the eye on the reception shaft for the pipe jack tunnel to come through.

Traditional Mining Tunnel of 30m length linking both shaft to create syphon effect to convey the waste to the sewer destination:

  • Coordinating staging of advances, ensuring safety, regular quality checks of the shotcrete sprays. 1m advance cuts with a 2.5t digger, structured with I-beams and shotcrete spray.

Rectification and stabilisation of tunnel deviation:

  • Coordinating method to to stabilise tunnel deviation.

Connection into live sewer:

  • Managing opening of the live sewer to allow future connection. Saw cutting and excavation of the existing sewer line.
  • Install a flume beam as a temporary sleeve into existing sewer to allow to work around.

Ground Engineering Supervisor

Ground Improvement on M6 Tunnel Project. 36M$ Turnover.

  • Setting up and self-performing jet grouting works (795 columns of 2.2m diameter combining verticals and inclined up to 33degrees angle)
  • Generating about 560 cubes of grout per shift, using 2x heavy-duty and versatile drill rigs HD202, with 2x Metax batch plants, 2x TW700 Techniwell High pressure pumps, 2x 35t silos and a 100t semi silo to store cement on site and keep both batch plants serviced continually.
  • Controlling and managing Quality of grout doing regular density checks, viscosity checks, parameters on jet grout rig per column to ensure diameter and quality of columns built, sequencing works. Daily meetings with client to report progress and raise potential challenges encountered on site.

Melbourne Metro Project - RPV - 5B$ Turnover

Creation of the 5 Metro Stations and two metro tunnels long of 7 km. Works include civil contractors, electrical works, structural works, tunnel works.

GROUND IMPROVEMENT:
Ground improvement works for future emergency exits underground over 4 different sites including Piling platform, Jet Grouting 700 columns of 3m diameter going 38m deep in a 15m2 area, 180 CFA piles surrounded by a high-risk environment with 220kVA overhead power lines, Main underground services, tight areas of 15m2, rails track and next to private residency.

  • Manage subcontractors, follow up of program, meetings with council and stakeholders, ensuring quality with support of our own geotechnical engineer.

TUNNELLING/CROSS PASSAGES:

  • Completion of 12 cross passages for permanent emergency exits between the two tunnels - self performance.
  • Starting from Western Portal, they are located every 250m up to the Library station.
  • Staging involving Tight and restrained space with Temporary working platforms with drainage system, pre-testing the ground condition and water inflow, temporary support of the door opening with steel beams up to 7m long of about 1tonne each, Excavation of the cross passage following geotechnical instruction regarding the ground support (shotcreting plus mesh/rock-bolting) coordinating the different phases of digging ground support surveyor geotechnical ground movement monitoring and restricted access to share with the TBM team, installation of electrical & ventilation system
  • Management of team of 35people to do excavation, waterproofing and carry out Fibre Reinforced Plastic on 7/3-7/4 rosters.

Rail Tunnel Fit out:

  • Managing electrical, plumbing and mechanical subcontractors for the lighting power drainage water supply and walkway/access through the tunnel for permanent works

Overall working in parallel with surveyor, cross checking survey with use of laser, following budget and program. Creation of live documents for workforce to use: staging of opening cross-pages door using Power Point.

SOLAR FARM of 66MWatt on a 212 hectares farm area feeding enough power to be able to reach Queensland and Victoria. 110M$ Turnover.

  • Survey and preparation of all documentation prior mobilisation to site (Inductions, staging works, forecast). Contacting potential providers and subcontractors for existing fence removal.
  • TEMPORARY SITE AMENITIES: Pricing for different tenders for subcontractors, mobilisation, demobilisation, and planning.
  • CIVIL WORKS: Follow up of 7km of roads and 9km of drainage respecting AS (road base, concrete floodway, sediment fence, earthworks). Checking survey and quality.
  • Leading and setting site records for ITPs (proof rolling, moisture, roller passes, slump tests and cylinder tests)
  • MECHANICAL WORKS: Follow-up the installation progress of 29,744 piles, 2,288 trackers and 205,920 panels
  • As well as checking the high standard of quality including the pull-out test
  • Coordination of the unloading of 13 inverter containers (40foot, 26Tonnes each) with an 80Tonnes crane in restrained areas and outback ground conditions and organised the waste evacuation generated by all materials
  • FENCING: Pricing for different tenders for permanent and temporary fencing follow up and optimisation of production throughout the project
  • OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE BUILDING: Coordination of the cranage of the O&M building (16Tonnes) access ramp and sewage tank
  • Preparing site records and meeting the council for approvals with layout, specs, Council certificates, approvals, warranties
