As a master graduates, I hope to join an innovative enterprise or research institution dedicated to biomedical science, gene therapy or biotechnology, and give full play to my research experience and skills in molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, etc. to bring value to the team. At the same time, I hope to continuously improve my scientific research ability in a challenging environment and promote scientific progress and technological innovation.
A internship in Biometry hub and learn how to use R to design and analysis data. Using 2 months to conducted field trials with canola samples and applied statistical modelling methods to study multifaceted phenotypic data in a controlled environment.
I interned in SA pathology laboratory( located in Woman and Children hospital) for 6 months, and my research topic was Fabry disease, a rare genetic disease caused by a mutation in the GLA gene, which leads to a deficiency of the enzyme α-galactosidase A (α-Gal A).
The diagnostic process is roughly as follows: Using Enzyme Activity Assay. Target Measure α-Gal A enzyme activity in blood (plasma, leukocytes, or dried blood spots). Low or absent enzyme activity in males with classic Fabry disease. Females may have normal or near-normal activity due to random X-chromosome inactivation.
