Along with a couple of friends I visited a local elderly resident looking after grandchildren who was struggling to maintain the house at the same time.
We completed all her standard gardening, including weeding and raking as well as cleaning up anything she wanted removed and tidied in her garden.
During my 2 years at the Australian Navy Cadets I gained a series of soft skills and hard skills.
Some soft skills include of, team leadership, problem solving, communication.
Some hard skills include First AID, power boating, water safety and knot skills.
These hard and soft skills which I learnt, helped me to be promoted to the rank Able Seaman.
Gained hands on experience in Australian trades and learnt a series of skills in bricklaying and carpentry.
Developed invaluable skills in team work and team management in group tasks.
With the Australian Navey Cadets group, I volunteered at a local Bunnings store for a Mothers Day event. The work involved included hosting mini games and activities for kids that visited the store with their mothers. In addition to this, we prepared and sold hot dogs to raise money for a charity organisation.
We handed out promotional flyers to raise awareness of the services offered by Navy Cadets Australia.
