At VESA my job requires me to operate a Vac truck doing non destructive digging to dig down on conduit blockages on underground network ducts.

We locate the blockages using a rodder and locate exactly where the duct is by using a cable locator which induces a signal through the copper cable within the duct which can then be detected by the receiver unit. This receiver unit can also provide the duct depth to help pinpoint the duct location underground accurately.

Once the blockage is located we clear the blockage either manually or with a water jetter. We then patch the conduit with PVC conduit patches and backfill the hole with soil.

I also implement traffic control and setup the site with the appropriate safety signage to maintain site safety as stipulated by NBN, this allows us to keep up a high level of health and safety at all times keeping everyone safe.
