To whom it may concern, my name is Michael Giorcelli. I am 50 years of age and have worked for CSR, Sucrogen and now owner Wilmar Sugar and Renewables for the past 31years. After commencing a career with CSR in 1993 as a locomotive pointsman and the progression to an RSU operator for the duration of 15 years, it was then time to start a career in the civil department. In 2008 I signed up as a rail supervisor/ganger in the construction of new sidings throughout the district. At the conclusion of the project, i moved onto shift work as a rail supervisor/ganger assisting in re-railing of bins and the fixing of derailments. Cranes, loaders and the operation of the new KMX12 packer machine became a major part of everyday work for the following 10 years. In 2018, I made the move over to Macknade Mill as a mobile plant operator and supervisor of the yard gang crew. In this position I have been able to extend my work qualifications and expand my work skills, which include assisting boilermakers, fitters and offering my services to any crew or worker that needs a hand in completing a task. Team playing is a major part of my career and I don't hesitate to lend a hand to whomever and whatever is needed of me. Working solo or as a team I take safety as a major responsibility as a part of my everyday work.
